Oh dear lord school has been hectic to the tenth power. On top of that, my clubs tend to overlap each other on what days they meet. Today, I stayed after for Special Olympics and Photography Club (I prefer Photography Club because it's such a smaller group). Both discussed the Homecoming Carnival, asking for ideas on how to raise money. Actually, I believe Special Olympics has already decided to do a bake sale - how generic, no? For Photography Club, 'tis my job to call the local McDonald's, asking for donations they could possibly give us to sell. *Writes that down on forhead in case she forgets*
This was my first meeting for Special Olympics. I had no idea it was that gigantic...it took up half the North Cafeteria, like French Club. Granted, I can accept French club would be a huge group seeing as there are two French teachers to advertise for it. It amazed me. Most of the people at Special Olympics do not like me, though. I kept to myself the entire time.
I departed the North Cafeteria to walk a few steps into Room 110, Mr. Woodarek's room. Mr. Woodarek's an awesome guy. I have never had the pleasure of being taught by him, but I met him last year when I joined the Da Vincian Society (whose meeting I plan on attending this Friday). Photography was quite a bit more layed back compared to Special Olympics. Yes, I love organization, but Special Olympics felt more like a class than a club. Blah. I seem to be babbling on once more. I apologize, Blogger.
My first AP World History test, spanning a total of five chapters, takes place on Friday. The essay in that class is due Friday. I am not prepared for either. I certainly am intent on keeping the A I have from my participation and homework assignments, though. I'm taking notes write now and I'm going to study a bit as well as getting started on my essay...meh...and "Nip/Tuck" is on tonight, too. Poopies. I love it when that happens.
Other than that, my life does not have much meaning to it...I have yet to meet someone new (perhaps that will change by Friday's Drama Club meeting or more Photography Club gatherings). That is my goal as of now - to meet and befriend someone new. =] And I will end on that note.
The election came upon me faster than I could say, "Baldwin Fighting Highlanders." Even more anger insued when I glanced at my posters...torn, drawn upon. This became almost a reminder as to why I considered not running in the first place. Why should I bother contributing my time to better them? To help lead them on some path to a decent, functional life in society. Alas, it only gets worse: the ballot read "Katie Kane" for me. -__- Can you believe that? Okay, my paper was signed "Kathlen Kane", my [gigantic] posters had the name "Kathleen" on it. T_T Could they not walk two feet out of their dilapitated rooms to observe my true name? Blah. The one thing that made my day was when Dave Losket came up to me in Latin class and told me he knew of no one that had voted for my biggest rival only because she spelled "sophomore" wrong on the posters as well. Bwahaha. Little does he know I was just as incompetent. I still cannot get over that. Still, I am certainly thankful I took the posters down.
There was a pep rally during eighth period today. Krissy and I caught up with each other to snatch seats of our own before others grabbed the best ones: the very back. 'Twas a nice day outside, I admit that. Luckily, our class is not that large because it gave Krissy and me the opportunity to sit alone for the most part. We are so sadistic it scares me. Krissy at one point mentioned that being there was almost as if she was living an unforgettable episode of "Daria". x] The purpose of the pep rally (obviously) was to produce more Baldwin High School spirit amongst ourselves enough to beat Woodland Hills. XD This has been the first pep rally in over thirteen years for our school. It was such a waste of time I couldn't believe it. I love how the school board just passed a rule saying it is now okay to have a D-average in a core class and still be able to play football. I love how we have these pep rallies, but are not able to have more than one formal dance each year. Life's truly a bitch, is it not?
I am so thrilled...I have been actually receiving A's in all my classes so far except Advanced Academic Algebra II (Honors). >_< Math was never my strong point. Meh. Hopefully I will manage to bring the grade up one slot. Heh. In Graphic Arts, we started carving into plastic to create intaglio art. I get to use my JTHM comics for them because they are a perfect example of line art. I could have used Spider-man, though. Hehe.
How about I tried out for Drama Club. I was so nervous. I printed out the monologue last night at two in the morning and managed to memorize...most of it. Out there on stage was the greatest rush I have ever felt yet. It was...exhilirating. Although, my body filled with absolute nervousness and I froze, forgetting my lines for what seemed like an eternity. Even still, I kept in character and performed. The end was the best. The actual monologue came straight out of Sleepy Hollow, a Johnny movie of course. ^__^
